Friday Fun – Is There A Doctor In The House? (We need 11 of them!)

April 22, 2010

Friday Fun – some of you may know that the game was a little bit poorly yesterday with an unfortunate bug. However, thanks to your feedback, this was picked up early and appropriate medicine administered by the tech doctors who have been busy making things better behind the scenes ahead of Sunday’s IPL Final.

So to carry this medical theme on, today’s Friday Fun is to select an XI of Non-cricketing ‘Doctors’…  As per last week, we’ll give you our opening pair, the rest of the side is down to you – beamed down from The Enterprise and facing up to the new ball are Dr Spock and Dr McCoy…

Send us your nominations for a Non-cricketing ‘Doctors’ XI and we’ll announce the final line-up next week…

A big money arrival through space and time – batting at 3 and surely a ‘shoe-in’ as skipper of the side, it has to be the king of the timelords Dr Who…

He doesn’t offer much with bat or ball but still worth considering – Dr Dolittle

Dr Zhivago – that Russian doctor/poet who, although married, falls for a political activist’s wife and experiences hardships during the Bolshevik Revolution – yes, that´s the chap!

Dr Fox as sub? He could be in charge of choons when a batsman walks in or perhaps (and slightly more apt) whenever a boundary is scored! Granted they would probably be power ballads or mellow magic, but you can’t have everything!!

Although he usually shares the new ball with Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson is surely an elementary pick for this side!

Can’t believe nobody has included Dr Hook – one of the best players of short pitched bowling the game has seen!
