Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Yuvraj has travelled to the United States for treatment of the cancer where he will undergo chemotherapy. Last year Yuvraj was diagnosed with a non-malignant tumour of the lungs, but further tests this year have revealed cancer.

It is thought that whilst this is serious, the cancer is curable. Jatin Chaudhary, Yuvraj’s physiotherapist said: “The doctors decided that he will have to undergo chemotherapy and he travelled to the US on 26 January. At the end of March, he will undergo a CT scan and should have recovered by then. After that it is just some rehabilitation in April before he is fit to be back on the field in May.”

The issue was first raised in last year’s World Cup in India, where Yuvraj was voted player of the tournament, as he helped his country to their first World Cup win since 1983.

We here at We Live Cricket would like to wish Yuvraj all the best in his recovery.
