Yuvraj Singh has been named in India’s Twenty20 squad to face New Zealand. It is the first time that Yuvraj has been picked by any Indian team after his battle with lung cancer.
The 30 year old last represented his country in November 2011 before having to have treatment. The left-handed batsman was named player of the 2011 World Cup in which India went on to win by beating Sri Lanka in the final in Mumbai.
Yuvraj is a very dangerous player in this format of the game and he showed this in the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup when he hit Stuart Broad for 6 sixes in an over in Durban.
The return of the elegant middle order batsman will please the Indian fans as well as cricket fans worldwide who have shown their support throughout.
