Yuvraj completes cancer treatment

Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has been released from hospital following the completion of his treatment for lung cancer.

The 30 year-old is in the US following three rounds of chemotherapy at a hospital in Indianapolis. He will remain in North America under observation under his medical team decide he can return to India.

Yuvraj is expected to make a full recovery from the treatment and will more than likely resume his international career in the near future.

The left-handed batsman’s health worsened during the 2011 World Cup in India, which India won, and Yuvraj was named man of the tournament.

Yuvraj has had great support from the cricket public but also famous figures including Lance Armstrong. Armstrong sent the Indian batsman a message of support after suffering from his own form of testicular cancer. The cyclist now runs a foundation for cancer survivors.
