Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is set to join Yorkshire and is likely to make his County Championship debut against Gloucestershire starting on 9th May.

The 22 year-old just needs to make sure that the relevant paperwork is completed before he arrives. Starc made his Test match debut against New Zealand last December and has played in four Tests. The left arm seamer has taken 10 wickets at an average of 32.50.

Starc originates from New South Wales but has found it tough to secure a place in the Australian side due to the emergence of young seamers James Pattinson and Pat Cummins. Australia also still have the likes of Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle, and Ryan Harris competing well at the top level.

Yorkshire will be hoping that Starc can help the county back into division 1 of the County Championship.
