England all-rounder Luke Wright has agreed a deal to play for Pune Warriors in this season’s Indian Premier League.

Wright will miss the start of the domestic season in England because of this commitment. With an early start to this year’s County Championship, Wright could miss the first six first-class matches.

Wright’s services have been required by a number of teams in domestic leagues worldwide, and this winter has already featured in New Zealand and Australia in twenty20 competitions. When playing for the Melbourne Stars, Wright scored the fastest ever Big Bash century, when he brought up the milestone off just 44 balls.

Speaking on his own Twitter account, Wright said “”I’m delighted to be going to the IPL with Pune Warriors. I’m disappointed to miss the start of the Sussex season but it’s an amazing opportunity few could turn away.”

The 27 year-old has recently signed a new deal at Hove keeping him at the county until the end of the 2015 season.
