Shivnarine Chanderpaul the West Indies batsman has agreed to join Warwickshire.

He will head to Edgbaston after the Test series against India has concluded. Chanderpaul will remain at the west midlands club until the end of the season.

The West Indian left hander will replace Mohammad Yousuf who played for Warwickshire during the early part of the season as their overseas player.

Warwickshire, who have started the season well, will be delighted to have the services of Chanderpaul, who has played in 130 Test matches and 268 one-day internationals. His experience and desire for runs will further strengthen a strong Bears outfit.

Chanderpaul brings county experience too, with spells at Lancashire and more recently Durham.
