Trott heads home

Jonathan Trott is leaving England’s Ashes tour and returning home to England after suffering from a stress-related illness.

It is believed that the illness has been a long-standing stress condition. England’s number three had made just 19 runs in the first Test match in Brisbane, and struggled to cope with the pace and aggression of Mitchell Johnson who attacked Trott with the short ball.

With Trott retuning to England it leaves Andy Flower needing to fill the much important number three position. One option for England is to move Ian Bell up to three with either Jonny Bairstow or Gary Balance filling Bell’s position in the middle order.

Since making his debut in the 2009 Ashes triumph at The Oval, Trott has been a permanent fixture at number three for England and has scored 3,763 runs at an average of 46.45.

Everyone in cricket is wishing Jonathan Trott a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the cricket field soon.
