Graeme Swann arrives back in India today and is expected to be available for England’s first Test match against India after the off-spinner flew home because his daughter was sick.

The first test match begins in Ahmedabad on Thursday and it is thought that Swann will be named in England’s starting xi despite missing England’s last warm up match due to being back in the UK.

England have had an unsettled start to their tour with injuries to fast bowlers Steven Finn and Stuart Broad who are both still a doubt for the first Test match.

Ian Bell is planning to fly home and likely to miss the second Test match to be at the birth of his first child.
