Surrey players Jade Dernbach, Stuart Meaker and Rory Hamilton-Brown have signed contract extensions with county, keeping them at the London based club until the end of the 2014 season.

All three players have played a leading role in the county’s resurgence in recent times, including a CB40 triumph and promotion back to division 1 of the County Championship in 2011.

Both Meaker and Dernbach have been rewarded for their efforts for Surrey with international honours in the shorter forms of the game. Dernbach helped England to series victories in both the one-day and twenty20 series against Pakistan in Dubai recently.

Despite a short spell at Sussex, Hamilton-Brown returned to Surrey in 2010 to captain the county. The right-handed batsman opened the batting in all forms of the game in 2011, but will more than likely slip into the middle order in the championship side, with Mark Ramprakash expected to open.

Surrey have recently announced that Jacques Rudolf will start the season as their overseas player. He will be replaced at the conclusion of the IPL when Murali Kartik will join the squad. Spinners have always been a key part of successful Surrey team’s, and Chris Adam’s will be hoping that Kartik can deliver the goods on dry pitches at the back end of the summer.
