Second Test, Cape Town
Day 4: South Africa 326 & 185-6 beat Pakistan 338 & 169 by four wickets

South Africa defeated Pakistan by four wickets in Cape Town to clinch a series victory by 2-0 with a match to spare.

Pakistan were dismissed for just 169 in their second inngs largely thanks to another outstanding spell from in-form Vernon Philander. The seam bowler took 4-40 taking his match figures to 9-99. It was Philander’s fourth five-wicket haul in Tests at Newlands.

Requiring 181 for victory South Africa made hard work of their run chase as they crossed the line with just four wickets to spare. Hashim Amla made a vital 58, as he top scored for the home side.

Saeeed Ajaml can feel unfortunate that he was not on the winning side after claiming 10 wickets in the match. The man of the match went to Robin Petersen who took some vital wickets, and also made a match turning 84 in South Africa’s first innings when in trouble.

South Africa are now unbeaten in 14 Test matches and have won their last 6 series. The last time South Africa lost a Test match was December 2011.

Can anyone tell me Saeed Ajmal was NOT named man of the match?
