Ryan Sidebottom has signed a new 12 month contract extension at Yorkshire keeping him at the county until the end of the 2014 season.

The 34 year-old former England fast bowler is in his second spell at the county where he started his career. Sidebottom had a spell at Nottinghamshire before returning to Headingley last year.

Sidebottom featured in 22 Test matches for England and in that time claimed 79 wickets at an average of 28.24. A career highlight for the left arm seamer was in May 2010, when England beat Australia in the World Twenty20 final in Barbados, and Sidebottom was a key member of the side.

Yorkshire will be hoping that Sidebottom can use his experiences to help lift Yorkshire back to division one of the County Championship following relegation last summer.
