West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach has been ruled out of the remainder of the tour of England with a shin injury. His place in the squad has been taken by spinner Sunil Narine.
It’s a shame for cricket fans as Roach has been the pick of the West Indies bowlers on this trip. Roach has bowled with serious pace and has troubled all of England’s batsmen.
With the series having already been lost 2-0, with just one match to play the West Indies camp felt it was a sensible decision not to further aggravate Roach’s injury.
Roach’s replacement Sunil Narine is an off-spin bowler who is yet to feature in Test cricket. However, he joins up with the squad straight from the Indian Premier League after a successful campaign where he helped the Kolkata Knight Riders to victory in the final.
The next Test match gets underway next Thursday and the tourists will be looking to salvage some pride after a disappointing second Test at Trent Bridge.
