Derbyshire County Cricket Club have today announced the signing of Pakistan fast bowler Rana Naved for the Friends Life T20 competition.

In recent times Navad has become a domestic T20 specialist where he has played in England, Australia and Pakistan. The 33 year-old Pakistani is well known for his skills at the back end of an innings with ball and bat in hand.

Naved is no stranger to the county game and has represented both Yorkshire and Sussex.

Speaking on Derbyshire’s website, head Coach Karl Krikken said: “We are delighted to secure the services of Rana who is a world-class bowler with vast experience and immense quality, as well as possessing tremendous striking ability with the bat.”

Rana will join up with the Midlands club in mid-June when the competition gets underway.
