Day1: England 408-3 v Haryana
Kevin Pietersen hit an impressive 110 from just 94 balls as England dominated the first day of their last warm up match in India against Haryana.
England closed the day on 408-3 as all of England’s batsmen enjoyed facing the less than potent Haryana attack.
England got off to a great start thanks to a 166 run opening partnership between Alastair Cook (97) and Nick Compton (74). It looks certain after this performance that Compton will start the first Test match at the top of the order with his captain.
Jonathan Trott contributed 46, and Ian Bell was 57 not out at the close, but the star of the show for England was the returning Pietersen. His brisk century included 16 fours and 3 sixes towering sixes and looked as though he had fully re-integrated himself within the side.
England will look to their bowlers tomorrow to find some form ahead of the first Test match against India which gets underway on 15th November.
