Morgan injury concern for England

England batsman Eoin Morgan is a doubt for the second Twenty20 international on Tuesday against New Zealand after sustaining a back injury.

Morgan top scored for England with a blistering 46 in Saturday’s victory over the Kiwi’s, but missed practice today after jarring his back. England will be hoping the attacking left hander will pass a late fitness test to take his position in the side. Joe Root is the likely replacement if Morgan doesn’t recover in time.

England will be looking to win the series in Hamilton tomorrow after what was a comfortable victory in the first match of the series in Auckland. England cruised to a 40 run win with Stuart Broad claiming 4-24.

For New Zealand, Ian Buttler and Grant Elliott return to the squad, and the home team will know they must improve their skills in all areas of the game to compete with England. The Black Caps dropped 5 catches in the first match highlighting how off the pace they were.

Eoin will be fine – once he’s got over the Dublin result.

Don’t be silly Simo – Eoin is now English, not Irish!

I wonder who KP was supporting in the 2007 RWC final.
