Ex Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has today been granted a visa to play in the Indian Premier League. Mahmood who is due to arrive on Saturday will only be available for the Kings XI Punjab for five games in the competition.

Mahmood who is a British citizen, and currently living in South London has been granted a visa which only allows him to travel to Chandigarh and Deli. Mahmood was bought in the February auction for $200,000, and the news is a boost to the Kings X1, after earlier in the week they were told that Stuart Broad would not be playing a single game for them, due to the calf strain he picked up in Sri Lanka.

Mahmood is an experienced international cricketer who represented Pakistan in 21 tests and 143 ODI. He will be the only player in this year’s IPL to have played for Pakistan. On return from the IPL Mahmood will yet again team up with Kent for the 2012 county season.
