Linley extends Surrey stay

October 24, 2011

Surrey fast bowler Tim Linley has signed a new two-year contract with the London based club.

Linley had an outstanding 2011, as he took 73 first-class wickets in helping Surrey get promoted back into Division One of the County Championship. Linley is a very popular member of the Surrey squad and his dedication and enthusiasm has been well received by all Surrey supporters.

The 29 year old has come of age in the past year after a slow start to his County career. Linley graduated at Oxford University before moving onto a one-year deal at Sussex. However, Linley was released by Sussex and was forced to spend a couple of year’s trialling with Surrey.

In 2009 Surrey Coach Chris Adams awarded Linely a full time contract at The Oval. Linely hasn’t let anybody down in his time with Surrey and found himself leading the attack last season.

Linely will be a key player for Surrey next season if they hope to challenge in a difficult First Division.

Linley bowls in the corridor of uncertainty- he will find your edge if your not at the top of your game!
