IPL 10th match, Bangalore
Kolkata Knight Riders 165/8 beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 123/9 by 42 runs

Kolkata Knight Riders eased to victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore thanks to a superb 64 from just 39 balls from their captain Gautum Gahmbir.

The away side batting first posted an excellent 165 from 20 overs, on a green looking batting surface. Gambhir’s innings included 9 fours and 1 six on his way to a blistering half century. Gambhir was well supported by wicket keeper Manvinder Bisla who made 46 from just 29 balls. KKR posted 165/8 from their 20 overs despite looking set to make 200 when Gambhir was at the crease.

In reply Chris Gayle was always going to be the key man for RCB, but when he was dismissed for just 2 by Kallis the writing was on the wall. RCB found themselves 33-5 and it was effectively game over. Lakshmipathy Balaji was the star man with the ball for KKR as he picked up 4-18 from his allotted 4 overs.

RCB fell 42 runs short of their total handing the KKR their first win in IPL 5.
