Kent County Cricket Club have today announced the signing of Ben Harmison, after the all-rounder was released by Durham at the conclusion of the 2011 season.

Harmison spent seven years at Durham where he featured in a total of 37 first-class matches. In this time Harmison averaged 26.10 with the bat and 34.66 with the ball in what was a largely successful period for the club from the North-East.

Much like his older brother Steve, Harmision grew up in Durham where he came through the academy ranks. Harmison also went onto represent England in the U19 World Cup that was held in Bangladesh.

Kent will be hoping that Harmison can contribute both with bat and ball next season as they push for promotion back into division one of the County Championship.
