T20 International, Hamilton
England 166-7 (20 overs) beat New Zealand 118 (19.2 overs) by 48 runs

England’s women produced an excellent performance in this morning’s Twenty20 international in Hamilton to defeat New Zealand by a comfortable 48 runs.
Batting first, England posted an impressive 166-7 from their 20 overs. This was largely thanks to an 82 run partnership for the first wicket between Charlotte Edwards (33) and Laura Marsh (48).
There was also a quick-fire 45 off 33 balls from Sarah Taylor giving England a more then competitive first innings score.
Opening the bowling, Danni Wyatt claimed three wickets as New Zealand fell well short of their target. The off-spinner finished with 3-24 from 4 overs helping England bowl New Zealand out for just 118.
