England win final warm up match

England have won their final warm up match against a Pakistan Cricket Board XI in Dubai.

England declared on 181/3 leaving the home side requiring 250 for victory on the final afternoon of the match. Jonathan Trott made 93 from 150 balls in what was a timely return to form for the Warwickshire batsman. Andrew Strauss also passed 50 for the visitors as he scored 62 from 119 balls.

England dismissed the Pakistan Cricket Board XI for just 150, with the wickets being shared around. Monty Panesar backed up his good performance in the first innings by taking 3-46, and pushed his claim for a Test place. Durham fast bowler, Graham Onions also registered 3 wickets.

England aim of winning all of their warm up matches before the start of the Test series has been achieved, and their focus will now be directed to the first Test match starting on 17th January against a resurgent Pakistan team.
