3rd Test match, Dubai
Day 4: Pakistan 99 & 365 beat 141 & 252 by 71 runs

Pakistan inflicted a 71 run defeated on England leaving the number one side in the world embarrassed as they are whitewashed 3-0 in Dubai.

England were set 324 runs to win in the fourth innings of the match, which was always going to be a tough proposition against a high quality Pakistan bowling line up. However, England started the day on 35-0 and would have still believed that the chase was possible on a wicket that was still good for batting.

Despite an improved batting display, England were dismissed for 252 just before stumps, sparking wild celebrations from the Pakistan team and fans. England failed to get any batsman past 50 and yet their top 8 batmen all reached double figures.

Alastair Cook (49) and Matt Prior (49*) joint top scored for the visitors on what was yet again another disappointing day in the UAE for England.

Umar Gul (4-61) and Saeed Ajmal (4-67) were the men that caused most problems for England today.

England’s crown of number one side in the world is slipping fast, and a tough trip to Sri Lanka in March will be a further test for this team, who look all at sea on wickets that are slow and low, and assist spin bowling.
