Surrey and England fast bowler Jade Dernbach will join up with Shane Warne this winter to represent the Melbourne All Stars in this year’s Twenty20 Big Bash competition in Australia.

The tournament commences on the 16th December and runs through until the 28th January. Dernbach will be available for the whole tournament baring any international selection.

The Big Bash has become a big part of the Australian cricket calendar and Dernbach has been targeted by the team from Victoria because of the variation he can bring to their attack. Dernbach is a hard bowler to get away in this form of the game as he bowls a very deceptive slower ball.

The Stars have also secured the services of Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright for this year’s competition. Cameron White will captain the side in which will include Australian internationals such as David Hussey and Peter Siddle.

Other English players that are featuring in this year’s Big Bash are Paul Collingwood (Perth Scorchers), Owais Shah (Hobart Hurricanes), and Michael Lumb (Sydney Sixers)
