FL T20, Grace Road
Nottinghamshire 98-4 beat Leicestershire 96 by six wickets
It was an embarrassing evening for reigning champions Leicestershire last night, as they lost their opening fixture of this seasons T20 competition to East Midlands rivals Nottinghamshire at Grace Road.
Batting first, Leicestershire were bowled out for just 96 which was their lowest score in T20 history. Steve Mullaney was the pick of the bowlers for Nottinghamshire as he picked up 4-19 from his four overs of left arm spin.
It was a struggle for all of Leicestershire’s batsman, and the top scorer was their overseas player Ramnaresh Sarwan who made just 13.
Despite losing four wickets in reply, overhauling this total was never a problem for Nottinghamshire. Michael Lumb top scored with 25, and former Leicestershire player James Taylor made 16 not out rubbing salt into the Leicestershire wounds.
