Ian Bell has signed a new three year contract with Warwickshire keeping him at the county until at least the end of 2015.

The England batsman made his first-class debut for Warwickshire in 1999 after progressing through the youth system in Birmingham.

Two years later, Bell became the youngest player to be awarded a county cap. In 2004 he helped the side to the County Championship title and then in 2010 he was named man of the match in the CB40 trophy final at Lord’s which Warwickshire won.

Bell is currently a vital part of a successful England team and has played in 77 Test matches in which he has scored 16 centuries.

Talking about his decision to sign the deal, Bell said: “I take a great deal of pride representing my home county and it’s fantastic to sign a new deal to continue playing for Warwickshire.”
