County Championship Division One, Edgbaston
Day Two: Durham 163, Warwickshire 195-7

An Ian Bell century was the highlight of a rain effected day at Edgbaston as Warwickshire finished the day on 195-7 in reply to Durham’s 163.

Bell resumed day two on 59 not out and finished the day having added 47 runs as he left the field 106 not out as the umpires called play off for the day due to the light drizzle.

Bell has shown his class in this match as no other batsman has recorded a half century in what are bowler friendly conditions in the West Midlands.

Warwickshire will be hoping more play is possible on day three as they lead Durham by 32 runs with 3 first innings wickets in hand.

Keith Barker was the stand out performer for Warwickshire with the ball on day one claiming 5-33 from 17 overs.

England will also be delighted with Bell’s return to form after the Warwickshire batsman has struggled in recent times form England and his county. The first Test match gets underway on the 17th May at Lord’s against the West Indies.
