Fourth Test, Adelaide
Day 4: Australia 604-7 dec & 167-5 dec v India 272 & 166-6

Australia require a further 4 wickets for victory at the Adelaide Oval to ensure a 4-0 series whitewash over India.

In what is becoming an all too familiar theme, Australia yet again had India on the back foot on day 4 in South Australia.

Resuming their second innings on 50-3 Australia were on the lookout for quick runs this morning. The home side soon wrapped up their innings as they declared on 167-5 with former captain Ricky Ponting making 60 not out.

This all meant that India required an improbable 504 runs for victory in the final 5 sessions of the match.

The Australian bowlers yet again showed that this Indian batting line up was not up to the task. India finished the day on 166-6, needing a miracle tomorrow to avoid anything other than defeat.

Virender Sehwag made a blistering 62 for India from just 53 balls but it was the only highlight in another poor display with the bat.

Nathan Lyon claimed 3-57 including the important wicket of Sachin Tendulkar who must be wondering whether he will ever pass 100 hundreds in international cricket.
