Anderson ready for Rose Bowl

James Anderson has declared himself ‘fit’ to lead England’s attack at The Rose Bowl in the third Test match starting tomorrow.

England’s premier fast bowler, who missed the second Test match at Lords will come into the side and will likely replace Steven Finn from the team that started the second Test match at Lords.

England currently lead the three match series 1-0, so anything other than defeat on the South coast, will be good enough to ensure a series victory.

England will be delighted to see the return of the Lancastrian to their ranks, as England’s three seam bowlers at Lords could only muster 9 wickets between them in the whole game. Anderson provides the pitch-up swing bowling that is essential in English conditions.

The Rose Bowl in Hampshire will become the 10th venue in England in Wales to stage Test match cricket.

Kumar Sangakkara will captain Sri Lanka in Southampton as Tilikiratne Dilshan has to make way after breaking his thumb in his brilliant 193 at Lords.
