Saeed Ajmal the Pakistan off spinner has confirmed that he will be re-joining Worcestershire county cricket club, for this year’s FLT20 competition.

Ajmal played a key role in subjecting England to a 3-0 series whitewash in the recent Test series in the UAE. The off-spinner claimed 24 wickets in just three Tests, as England struggled to pick his doosra.

Ajmal was at New Road last season where he played as Worcestershire’s overseas player in all forms of the game. His wickets helped Worcestershire remain in division 1 of the County Championship, and he also found success in the Twenty20 competition, where he picked up 16 wickets at 11.37.

Commenting on securing Ajmal’s services, Steve Rhodes said: “Saeed showed last summer what a quality bowler he is, and his recent performances against England only go to back this up, and we are delighted that he has agreed to return to New Road for a second time.”

Ajmal will join the West Midlands County in mid-June when the T20 campaign gets underway.
